10 Reasons Why Sarah Palin Should Not be the VP of the U.S.
|
Here’s 10 good reasons why Sarah Palin should not be the VP of the U.S. – and absolutely should not be just a heart beat away from the presidency!
1) She’s doesn’t have the experience – her experience consists of being a sports reporter, mayor of a town of 6000-8000 people, then governor of Alaska – a state with a population of only 670,000 – for less than 2 years.
2) She doesn’t have enough education – she has only a Bachelor’s degree in journalism – no advanced degrees. On July 31, this year – she asked: “What is it exactly that the VP does everyday?“.
3) She’s anti-choice – She opposes abortion even in the case of rape and incest.
4) She’s anti-environment – she wants polar bears taken off the endangered species list, wants to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and doesn’t believe human activities are responsible for global warming.
5) She’s anti-science – she doesn’t believe human activities are responsible for global warming, wants creationism to be taught in science classes and is against life saving stem cell research.
6) She doesn’t know this country’s history – her opinion of the phrase “Under God” being in the Pledge of Allegiance: “If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance“. But of course the phrase “under God” was not added to the pledge until 1954, and had nothing whatsoever to do with the founding fathers.
7) She’s lied – she said she opposed the bridge to nowhere, but in reality she supported it while campaigning for governor.
8 ) Her policies don’t work – she’s believes in abstinence-only sex education which studies have shown doesn’t work and as a perfect example of their failure, her own 17 year old unmarried daughter is pregnant.
9) She’s tied to big oil just like the current administration – her husband works for British Petroleum and she wants to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
10) She was involved in an Alaskan secessionist organization in the 1990’s – the Alaskan Independence Party. A group whose founder, Joe Vogler has stated: “I’m an Alaskan, not an American. I’ve got no use for America or her damned institutions.”
Still not convinced?

I love your list!! You are dead on! I was a lobbyist in Alaska on women’s and children’s issues for 12 years and know the State of Alaska political world all too well.
I am female, 50 and 5th generation Alaskan.
I find it hard to blog on my site about any other topic right now and will continue to share information each day as I am getting peoples interest.
Good for you for putting that list together! And thank you for your comment on my article.

Thanks for posting this. It was informative and to the point.
I have to say that I was leaning towards McCain, but after this out of left field pick, I now know that I was right from the beginning to like Obama.
It amazes me that of all the people he could have picked, he picked her. I think he has already sealed the deal for Obama to take the White House.

Hi Trisha,
Excellent list. I was thinking about all that last night as I watched her self assured ways speak to mainly the women I think because she and women can identify with a lot of what she is (a mom, pta, hockey, lots of kids in varying ages and a kid in the army)–but identifying with me doesn’t mean she qualifies for the job and pretty much summed up all the reasons why. Thanks.

I love this list. I don’t care that she’s a woman, it’s not going to get me to become a republican. She pretty much believes in everything I disagree with. It just seems like she would be a step backwards for so many things. And above all I love number 1 and 2 on your list. No experience, and really you need to be told what the VP does? Great!!!!

Hello Trisha,
First of all, I absolutely LOVE your blog!!! Being a male raised in a household with 4 females, I’ve been for Womens rights since age 17 ( I’m 38 yrs old now). I found your blog out of desperation. I’m not only appalled but sincerely frightened about the prospect of a possible V.P Palin on ALL the 10 reasons you pointed out. I feel so much better reading the subsequent posts from other female readers and knowing in my heart, “most” females arent on the “low information” bandwagon.
Personally, I would’ve LOVED to have seen an Obama/Clinton ticket, but now that its water under the bridge, Mrs Palin scares me as much as McCain does. The way they both can look directly into the camera and flat out LIE is chilling to me and knowing Women see through the B.S makes me feel a little better. Keep up the good work and keep telling the TRUTH!!!
Thanks!!!

Can you please tell me where it states that you have to have more than a bachelors degree to be VP or even President? How many presidents have there been who haven’t even had the 4 yr. degree?
Last time I checked the college catalogs I didn’t see a degree in “US Presidency”.
The US is a “government for the people, by the people” – which is exactly what Sarah Palin is. A person.

I agree that she should definitely have a better education. I don’t know how many degrees should be required, but she should AT LEAST know what her job would entail should McCain get elected as President.

Lets nominate a VP with a degree in Journalism as her educational credentials. Better yet lets nominate a President that graduated bottom five of his Naval Academy. Why is there no article written on that? Even better, lets nominate a man that preaches family values, whom cheated on his wife who waited six years for him to come back from his time spent as a POW.
That’s family values, education, and smart choices. Our democratic system is failing. McCain lost my vote.
They say this election is turning into voting based of personality. Why is that a good thing for McCain and Palin?
Check out my myspace dedicated to the McBriliant_Palin_08 ticket.
Nice blog, great facts. Thank you for citing your sources!!

hey losers…go to factcheck.com and you will find that numbers 5,7, 9 and 10 on your list are false. women like you are an embarassment to the rest of us!! now, you go ahead and vote for your precious obama, but when you are forced to wear a burka..oh, i’m sorry…he’s really not a muslim. all of those slips of the tongue were due to fatigue from being on he campaign trail for 57…oh i mean…19 months. try doing a little research…57 states has to do with 57 muslim states. and if ol’ stephanopolis hadn’t quickly corrected obama when he said he was a muslim…well, who knows what excuse you would have come up with to protect him. you people are soooooo pathetic. GO MACCAIN/PALIN!!!
